DESCRIPTION

This is a favorite club run in either winter or summer, mostly because of the opportunity to share a pot luck meal then soak in the hot springs afterwards. During winter this is an 8-mile run on the road down to Markleeville and back. The trails open up in late spring allowing for about 3.5 miles of that total to be on single-track dirt. Either way - plan on hills on the 4-mile run back to the cars.

This is NOT a dog-friendly run. The park rangers are very vigilant and enforce the leash rule at all times.

There are full facilities in the Hot Springs building as well as in the campground.

The fee to enter the hot springs is currently $2.00 per person.

(From South Lake Tahoe) Take SR 89 out of Myers to the Pickett's Junction with US HWY 88. Turn Left onto US HWY 88 and drive almost 6 miles down the canyon. Turn Right onto SR 89 towards Markleeville and drive 6.4 miles into town.

(From Carson/Minden/Gardnerville) Take US HWY 88 south out of Minden to Woodford's Station, on your right approximately 13.5 miles after the junction of US HWY 395 and US HWY 88. Turn Left onto SR 89 towards Markleeville and drive 6.4 miles into town.
