DESCRIPTION

An 8-mile uphill-out-downhill-back run along road, this run separates the wheat from the chaff. The view from the lookout on Angora Ridge is one of the finest you'll see in the south basin area.

Sorry, this one's not for dogs. The entire run is along roads and much of it is narrow and winding.

There's a pit toilet at Sawmill Pond where the run starts/ends. Otherwise you'll have to use shrubs beside the road.

This is an all-road run

Take US HWY 50 through South Lake Tahoe to the intersection with SR 89 (also known as "The Y"). Do not turn right or left here, even if you're car insists on it out of habit! Proceed straight through and drive a little less than 2 miles to Sawmill Pond, on your left. Turn left onto Sawmill Road then immediately left into the Sawmill Pond parking area. We park on the dirt verge as soon as we turn towards the parking area.
